- Frances was born in 1817 at Rillington, Yorkshire. She was baptised on 16 March 1817 at Rillington cum Scampston, York.
Frances married Francis Henry Vant in 1840 st St Peter's Church in Leeds. Francis, a bachelor and Tailor of George Street, his father Richard Vant was also a Tailor. Frances was a spinster of George Street, her father, Matthew Edwards was a Bacon Factor. Witnesses were John Pollite & Margaret Vant. married by Banns
In 1841 Frances was living in Georges Street, Leeds with her mother Frances Edwards and husband Francis and their 5 month old son William.
Frances and her family were lving at 10 Merrion Place, Leeds in 1851. There were 2 servants, Mary Ann Joy, 21 and Jane Tyas, 16.
In 1861 The family were still at Merrion Place Francis was employing 7 men in his provisions business and his son Alfred was employed there also. There are 2 house servants Ellen Dalby 28 and Emma Saville 17.
In 1871 The family were living at 11 Reginald Street Potternewton. Francis was a Retired Provisions Merchant. His son Walter was a bookkeeper in a Brewery. There was one servant, Caroline Asquith, 26 and a visitor Elizabeth Illingworth, 24.
In 1881 Widowed Frances was living at 7 Reginald Terrace Potternewton with her son Walter. Also the address was Servant Caroline Asquith.
Frances died in 1885 aged 67.

VANT Frances 23 March. The Will of Frances Vant late of Reginald Terrace Potternewton in the Parish of Leeds in the County of York Widow who died 23 January 1885 at Reginald Terrace was proved at Wakefield by Walter Vant of Reginald Terrace Gentleman the son the sole Executor.
